He records that the patriarchs of Jerusalem have given or confirmed the following: in the territory of Jerusalem two-thirds of the tithe of the casale of Bethsan, the tithes of the gardens and mills of Siloam, and of other lands and vineyards in the same territory, the tithes of 2 carrucae, of which one was given by Guido de Miliaco, the other by Baleanus; in the territory of Nablus the tithes of the 2 casalia of Ascar and Bytiri; in the territory of Acre the tithes of a casale called [Case]ra and of 4 carruce terre olivarumque at Casale Vberti de Pazeo, half of the tithe of Baleanus at Bytiri and of the land of Beroaldus, which is on the mountain, all the tithes of 3 casalia belonging to Balduinus Rama[tensis] called Gemail, Serra and Bezezin, and the tithes of 2 casalia that belonged to Gunfredus de Turre called Caueᶒ and Tarphin; in the territory of Jaffa a church and the tithes of the land that belonged to Fragmericus and of 2 carruce terrᶒ that King Baldwin I gave St Mary; and in the territory of Hebron the tithe of a casale called Iamaruara. The canons of the Holy Sepulchre gave an oven in Jerusalem, the tithe of Terra Plate Petrᶒ and the tithe of a casale called Darchiboam. The bishops gave the tithe of a casale called Bethala in the territory of Caesarea; the tithe of the produce of the labour of the monks and their subjects [subditi] in the territory of Haifa, and of a casale called Galgala; the church of Ligio in Galilee with parochial rights and all the tithe, the tithes of a casale called Thanis, the church of St George situated above Tiberias, and the tithes of a casale called Casrielme; a casale called Saphiria in the territory of Ramla and half its tithe; a house within the Castrum Sancti Georgii [Lydda], together with 2 houses outside and inside the walls of the machomeria, and 4 carrucate terre before the same castle and the tithes of 2 carruce terre which Balduinus de Ramis added; churches in Acre, Haifa and Tyre, together with the tithes of the 2 casalia of Bethfella and Sardanas; and another church next to Sidon and the tithes of a viridarium and lands belonging to it, and the tithes of a casale called Capharabra and of 8 carruce terre in the mountain of Sarepta; in the territory of Beirut the tithes of a viridarium and 2 carruce terre, and another church with parochial rights and a cemetery [cimiterium] in Castrum Thymini; chapels [capellae] in the casale of Bethalla and in Saphiria. Godfrey [of Bouillon] and the kings and barones of Jerusalem gave an oven, mills, houses and gardens within the walls of Jerusalem, together with lands and vines outside the city; the Pool of Siloam and mills, a fosse [fossa], gardens, 2 parts of the casale of Bethsan, and the casale called Darchiboam; in the territory of Nablus the casalia of Ascar, Bytiri and Saphe; in the territory of Jaffa 2 carruce terre and the land that had belonged to Fragmericus; in the territory of Haifa a casale called Tym[ini] and in the castle [castrum] of Haifa houses, an oven and land within and outside; in the territory of Hebron a casale called Iamaruara; next to Sidon a casale called Capharabra, together with a viridarium and lands, and 8 carrucate terre in the mountain of Sarepta; in Beirut houses, an oven, a mill and a viridarium and 2 carrucate terre outside; in Acre 2 houses and in the mountains a casale called Cassara; in the territory of Caesarea a casale called Bethalla and within the city a house, and a casale called Meschium next to the road that runs to the river; across the River Jordan a casale called Bethura; 4 carrucate terre in the [village] land of Ligio, together with houses in the casale; in the territory of Toron a casale called Corath; in the territory of Tiberias a casale called Casri[elme]; in terra Sueti, casalia called Zebezeb, Sanctus Georgius de Chaman, Sanctus Iob and Suesme; in the territory of Gor a casale called Iarraz; in Casale Huberti de Pazeo 4 carrucate terre and an olive plantation [olivetus] and a house in the casale and a garden outside; in the territory of Tyre the casalia of Bethfalla and Sardanas and houses, a viridarium and a garden in the city; in the territory of Ascalon a casale called Machoz, the greater machomeria in the city and one of the better viridaria; across the River Jordan 2 casalia called Bethsura and La; the right to enter and leave and to import and export in every port without the payment of shipping dues and in the case of Acre also without the payment of any customs duty [tributalis consuetudo]. The pope confirms the abbey’s tithe privileges, its rights with respect to episcopal procurations, burial and admission. He adds its freedom from episcopal sanctions in Jerusalem.

With the agreement of his son Humfredus and his daughters, and of Gualterius Berythensis, in whose feodum it had been, and of Gualterius’s brothers Guido and Bernard, Humfredus de Torono gave half of the castellum of Paneas. Amalricus comes Ascalonis makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, confirming for the canons of the Holy Sepulchre, represented by Hugo dictus de Tharso, decanus Joppensis, the sale for 52 besants to Hugo of a pecia, consisting of two parts of a vineyard, by a Surianus called Naym. Amalricus gives the third part of the vineyard, which had belonged to him, to the decanus and brothers of the Holy Sepulchre, to which he adds whatever belonged to him in the vineyard of the Surianus Menferretus. The 2 pecię were next to the vineyard of the Holy Sepulchre on the eastern side. In return for this Hugo makes a counter-gift to Amalricus of 100 besants. Stressing that the abbey is Benedictine, the pope confirms papal protection. No tithes are to be owed on harvests produced by the monks’ own labour or on oblations or revenues granted to the community. Baptism and burial can be performed in the abbey’s churches, saving parochial rights. The cemeteries attached to the abbey and its dependent churches are to be available to those who wish burial, provided they are not excommunicates. The abbot and community can admit clergy and laity as confratres and can bury them. The abbot’s election will be according to the Benedictine Rule. The ordination of an abbot is to be the prerogative of the patriarch of Jerusalem if the elect finds travelling to Rome for consecration difficult.
