He confirms the gift made by King Amalric as a reward for service to Guillelmus Louellus of the chaplaincy of the royal chapels of the Holy Cross and of St Laurence in the castle of Jaffa, to be held for life in assisia. The annual income provided for Guillelmus is specified as: 30 besants, payable in three instalments, and 24 modii of wheat. In addition he receives 9 denarii a week, to meet the cost of oil and wax to illuminate [the relic of] the Holy Cross and 2 candles, 1 besant at each of the feasts of Easter, the Exaltation of the Cross and Christmas, and [the proceeds of] parochial rights within the castle. And he has an honoured place at their table whenever the lord or lady [domnus vel domna] resides in the castle. With the agreement of his chapter, Rainaldus ecclesie Montis Syon minister confirms under seal an exchange made with King Amalric [between Feb. 18 1163 and Dec. 24 1173], in which the abbey surrendered a vineyard at the foot of Mt Sion, below the house known as that of Germanus, together with another little vineyard [vineola] adjacent to it to the south, at the crossroads next to the house of Germanus, in exchange for a vineyard next to the church of St Procopius. The purpose is to construct a pool [lacus] for the use of all Christians [on the site of the vineyards]. They confirm the eleemosynary gifts of Mauricius Montis Regalis dominus to the Hospital. These are specified as: a casale in the territory of Mons Regalis called Benisalem with its villani on both sides of the river; in the vicus of Mons Regalis, Caissar filius Tamin with his heirs and possessions, and land which is situated between the vineyard of Seguinus and [that of] Gullelmus Hasin; a house in Mons Regalis; a casale called Canzil in the territory of Petra with its rustici and with a gastina called Hable which is adjacent to it; a house in Petra; land next to the vineyard that belonged to Johannes Castellanus and afterwards to the archbishop; a ship [navis] for transporting Hospitaller goods, freed from any duty [sine precio vel munere].
