Emissaries of the emperor Frederick have interceded with him on their behalf. The pope exonerates the archbishop and releases him from the case, assigning it to the patriarch of Jerusalem and bishop of Acre.

text: Jan. 2. Lateran. The bishop of Tripoli has informed the papacy of the number of churchmen beneficed in his church. Besides the 12 canons - a number confirmed by the Holy See - 2 further canons have been admitted on papal orders and others, having a yearly income of 100 besants, without victuals, have been appointed. Although the resources of the church have been weakened on account of the interdict, it is supporting a further 40 beneficed clergy, besides vicarii and stipendarii clerici. Pope Honorius III, therefore, assures that bishop that he is not obliged to accept any others recommended in papal letters, unless a specific reference is made.
