Patriarch Albert of Jerusalem, the papal legate, rules on a dispute between Helyas, son of the late Paganus Pictaviensis, and Girardus, preceptor hospitalis Theutonicorum, over a house, situated within an enclosed group of houses of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans, which Helyas claims was his own. Accepting 25 besants from the [preceptor] Helyas renounces his claims. text: Aug. 27. Lateran. Pope Innocent III authorizes the magister and brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans in Acre to continue to wear white mantles [alba pallia] for the time being. They had been doing so on the assumption that this was intended when it was established at their foundation that they were to follow Templar military practices. The Templars have complained. Innocent has written to the patriarch of Jerusalem on the matter.
