Raymundus had shown the bishop charters of gift made by Count Raymond [of St Gilles], and Arbertus episcopus and Pons episcopus, and confirmed in papal bulls of privilege. Bernardus makes an eleemosynary grant, giving Raymundus Hospitalis pater and his brothers the tithes of all the property the Hospitallers own in the diocese of Tripoli, except for half the tithes returned in the parish of Artussia, together with the tithes of the mills of Guillelmus Berardi. The Hospital is to retain the tithes of the bishopric of Archae as long as it has possession of the church there. Patriarch William of Jerusalem records and seals an agreement, arbitrated in his presence in Jerusalem and Nablus and made between the brothers of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem and Robertus Casalis Sancti Egidii and his wife, with the consent of Roardus vicecomes and his wife Gilla, and of King Fulk and Queen Melisende. Robertus and his wife give the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, Raimundus eiusdem domus magister and its brothers the land of Emaus with its casalia, just as Robertus had held it as a feudum from Roardus and his wife. In return the brothers of the Hospital will pay Robertus and his heirs each year a census of 250 besants at Easter or within 40 days and another 250 besants at the Feast of All Saints. The land will revert to Robertus if the Hospitallers fail to pay, but Robertus can, if he wishes, make an eleemosyinary grant to the brothers of up to 100 of these besants, or sell or commute them. Such an act will be confirmed by Roardus as an eleemosynary gift. The remaining 400 besants will continue to be paid. She assigned as a marriage portion [dotis nomine] 300 besants to the daughter of Willelmus, raised on a statio in the rua Surianorum, which they held of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. Forced by necessity, Petronilla and Adam have the agreement of Willelmus and his daughter to act as they please with respect to the statio. They give the statio as an alms-gift to the Hospital, receiving in charity 360 besants, and with the agreement of the chapter of the Hospital they raise the marriage portion of 300 besants on lands and houses that they hold of the Hospital in Cacho. At this time Gibertus magister Hospitalis is overseas. He gives Rochefort with an abbatia, Cava, Levonia, Tala, Bachfela, Gaigon, Glorieta with a spring that waters the gardens, casale S. Egidii with the torone de Belda, half of Rogia together with the other half which Bohemond has acquired from Reinaldus Masoerius and his heirs, Arcicant, Farmith, Femia with its lake, Logis, Bochabes with the casale de Pailes; other lordships and liege lordships [dominationes et liggianciae] that Femia has in Syria, Berssaphut, castellum de Lacoba and Totomota. With the consent of the inhabitants, Bohemond concedes all these, together with his lordships and liege lordships in them, with the agreement of those who have rights, feoda and heritages. The Hospitallers can make war and peace with neighbouring Muslim powers as they please and, when notified, Bohemond will observe them.
