They also describe the duties of the marshal and the brothers-at-arms and the equipment at their disposal, and reveal the existence of the two classes of brother knights and brother sergeants. They establish the method of election and the authority of the master and the great officers, the procedure for the holding of chapters general, the form of conventual life, internal discipline, the care of sick brethren and the provincial organization.
