text: Apr. 1 - 20. Melisende, divina largiente clementia Iherosolimorum regina, with the consent of her sons King Baldwin III and Amalricus Ioppensium comes, renounces under seal her claims against the canons of the Holy Sepulchre, with respect to the villani of Bethsuric, namely Selmen filius Maadi; Habderahmen; Selim; Hasem; Nasen; Mekedem/Melpedem/Melpeclem; Seleemen; Sade; Brahin; Kannet; Nasser; Ariz; Mahmut; Zafer; Demsis; Resselem; Tameh; Rosec; Sahe; Salem filius Sade and the others, and the land in the casale. The canons are to have these as freely as they did in the time of Duke Godfrey [of Bouillon]. Melisende confirms the canons’ rights over the Suriani of Kalandria called Cosmas, Semhan/Seimahian, Samuel, Ihanna, Meferreg and Gerges, in exchange for a statio, which had belonged to Willelmus Bastardus, and the shares the canons had in 2 tables of money-changers [mensae nummulariorum] so that Melisende could construct a new ruga in Jerusalem. Melisende also renounces claims she had had on Suriani of Ramathes, called Bolferag, Jacob, Brahim and Ysaac, and on a vineyard that domna Geltidis, the wife of the lord Rohardus had left as an eleemosynary gift on her death. With the agreement of his brothers, frater Petrus presbiter, frater Bonus presbiter, frater Martinus, frater Albertus, Homodei, Johannes, Perettinus, domina Peronella, domina Borghesa and domina Guilielma, Petrus magister et rector hospitalis Sancti Spiritus, who is ill, recognizes under seal that the petia of land on which the hospital is built was given to it by Mainardus Tignosus on behalf of the Pisan commune; that when Acre was recovered by the Franks [Francigene] the king of England restored the hospital to the Pisans, who have patronage over it; and that Peccius Minestra, Pipinus Conetti and Bolgarinus Rainaldi, the Pisan consuls, are patrons, saving the rights of the Order of the Cruciferi and its master in the diocese of Bologna. Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, records that frater Hermannus magister domus sancte Marie [Theotonicorum] in Ierusalem and Iacobus de Amigdala came into his presence [and that of the curia regni Ierosolimitani] and asked for a confirmation of an agreement made between them. Casale Mebelye was given to Iacobus in exchange for casale Trefile and castrum novum, called Montfort, which the brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans have fortified, and a garden and a mill that are dependencies of Trefile. These had been inherited by Iacobus from his mother, the daughter of comes Iozolinus. In his curia Frederick issues a sealed confirmation of the exchange.
