Aimery, dei gratia rex Ierusalem nonus et rex Cipri, records that Paulus and his brother, the sons of Theodericus de Sarepta, came into his presence and that of his curia and also of the curia of his iurati, and renounced their claims to a house with a garden in Tyre, which the brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans had been given in a charter by comes Henricus and his wife domna Isabella, regis Amalrici filia. At Aimery’s request the brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans give Paulus and his brother 200 besants. With the agreement of his wife the Lady Queen Isabella, Aimery confirms under seal the brothers and the sick of St Mary of the Germans in possession of the house and garden. Witnesses: Raynaldus Sydoniensis; Iohannes de Ybelino regni conestabulus; Balduinus de Betsan; Vilanus de Alneto; Terricus de Tenero Monte; Iohannes regius marescalcus; Adam Coste; Willelmus de Petra; Aimon Daus. Bohemond, Dei gratia princeps Antiochie, the son of Prince Raymond, places on record under seal that Simon Foglianelli consul Pisanorum Acconis and his companions Petrus iudex and Federicus Mochi, legati of the commune of Pisa, came into his presence and asked him, in the name of all Pisans, to confirm the charter [privilegium] that his mother Constantia had granted to Buctaccius the legatus of the Pisans and also to confirm his own charter [privilegium], which he had granted in Tyre to all Pisans. With the agreement of his wife Ysabella principissa, Bohemond therefore confirms both charters, assuring the Pisans that their rights will not be challenged by any baiulus or pauctonarius. He adds that he grants the Pisans that on all the goods for sale after importation [de commercio intrando] the duty is to be 3 per cent; after weighing [de quirato commercii] 2 per cent; on passage through the principality [de passagio], half, and on all other duties owed by Latins, half; on the personal tax levied on Pisans at the pons Ferri half duty [directura]; half of the tertianaria at the port of Sanctus Symon; half of ancoragium; half of the duty on wine, that is to say the payment of 1 denarius in every besant; in relation to the caban commercii, 3 unciae on every 100 ritulis. He confirms its possessions, specifying: the place in Nicosia where the church is situated; the 2 casalia of Ornithia and Affendia, given by King Aimery of Cyprus; the tithes of Nicosia and of its properties throughout Cyprus; La Solie, La Thomassie, La Tremotosie, Le Quirt, La Quitrie, Cherim, Lapizon, Melias, Maratha, Syvorie, Cambyii, Xindas, the fief [feodum] of Briem, Asquia, Pigui and Prastroue. He confirms the establishment of the suffragan bishoprics of Paphos, Limassol and Famagusta. He grants the archbishop the pallium and lists the feasts and other occasions on which it can be worn. He refers to rights of procuration and the processional cross, but dwells on the archbishop’s obligations. He forbids the proprietary possession of graveyards and ecclesiastical benefices.
