[179] Hunfredus, son of Hainfredus juvenis, with the agreement of his lord Rainaldus princeps and domna Stephania his mother, the wife of Rainaldus, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to the lepers of the leprosary of St Lazarus, living next to the walls of the holy city of Jerusalem, for the benefit of the souls of Philippus his grandfather, domnus Henfredus constabularus and domnus Hainfredus his father, and also to benefit his mother domna Stephania and her husband domnus Rainaldus princeps, and so that he might share in the prayers and merits of the sick and healthy members of St Lazarus. He gives an annual rent of 20 Saracen besants to be drawn from his assisia at the chathena/cathena of Acre, in the same terms as those imposed when he received the assisia and other assisi[ae] of the chathena. His charter is also sealed by domnus princeps Reginaldus. He gives an annual rent of 20 besants, to be drawn each Candlemas from the funda of Tripoli. text: Oct. 30. Adam Magnus, an inhabitant [habitator] of casale Sancti Egidii, with the agreement of his wife Florata and his son Baldewinus, makes an eleemosynary grant to the lepers of the leprosary of St Lazarus of Jerusalem under frater Bernardus domus leprosorum Sancti Lazari magister. He gives an annual rent of 50 litrae of wine, drawn in equal measures from 2 vineyards, one on a piece of land in one of his vineyards and the other at Terra Blanca. He adds another 25 litrae of wine, to be drawn from a vineyard above the land of Chanteperdiz, held by the baronus Guillelmus/Willelmus Magnus, who, together with Robertus Evronis, ought to give the rent to the lepers. Because Adam Magnus has no seal, he has his charter sealed by the canons of the Holy Sepulchre. Cesariensis episcopus makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to the leprosary of St Lazarus of Jerusalem, represented by Rainaldus de Flori magister domus leprosorum in Jerusalem. The archbishop gives a house and church at Painperdu, on condition that due obedience is owed to the archbishop, saving the Order’s rule. In recognition of his ordinary jurisdiction, St Lazarus will provide 8 candles [cerei], each of 4 rotulae of wax annually to the cathedral of St Peter of Caesarea.

With the consent of his chapter and for the support of the lepers and others, Petrus Cesariensis archiepiscopus makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to the leprosary of St Lazarus of Jerusalem, the magister of which is Rainaldus de Floriato. He gives the house and church of Sanctus Laurentius de Painperdu, situated in the territory of Caesarea, on condition that due obedience is owed to the archbishop, saving the Order’s rule. In recognition of his ordinary jurisdiction, Each year St Lazarus will provide 8 candles [cerei] of 4 rotulae of wax each to the cathedral of St Peter of Caesarea. Should the land be occupied by the Sarraceni and the present truce between the Christians and the Sarraceni breaks down permanently, the Order will not be held to pay the census until the land is restored.
