They specify a church, the right to use weights and measures [cantaria et pondera et mensurae], an oven, a bath house, a stall [bancus] on which the Genoese can sell each other meat, and a rua with houses and properties in Acre and in all the maritime cities of the kingdom, and the right to come and go, sell and buy without payment of dues. In return for the part Genoa played in the relief of Jaffa they give a casale on the plain of Jaffa called Deldoc with all its rustici and a rent [in assisa] of 400 Saracen besants assigned on the fundum of Jaffa, payable in 4 instalments. If this rent fails it will be made up from other rents in or outside Jaffa and Acre. Challengers to these gifts will be excommunicated as is conceded by Patriarch Conradus of Jerusalem and Ioscus archiepiscopus Tirensis. Mindful of the magnificent contribution the city of Genoa made to the liberation of the eastern regions, the defence of Tyre and the siege of Acre, and with the consent of his wife domna Ysabella regis Amalrici filia, Henricus Trecensium comes palatinus makes a sealed grant to the Genoese commune of Tyre, represented by Nicholaus Cartofigus and Vgo Lercarius Ianuensium consules. He gives the Genoese a free curia in the city of Tyre, freedom to come and go by sea or land, to buy and sell in the funda of Tyre, but on the following condition. If the Genoese come by sea to Tyre in the kingdom of Jerusalem from the land of the Sarraceni, Barbary [Barbaria] or Egypt, or if they come by sea to Tyre from Constantinople by way of the land of the Sarraceni, or come by land from the territory of the Sarraceni, they will pay dues [consuetudines] on the merchandise they sell, but will be exempted from dues on merchandise they do not sell. They are confirmed in their freedom from prosecution for any crime except homicide, theft and rape, and from imprisonment. Henricus confirms for the Genoese their freedom to use their own weights and measures [cantarii, buzae et modii] in Tyre. He confirms their possession of casale Sancti Georgii, Oraca, a large garden belonging to the queen and small gardens situated under the castelletum and within the city wall near the castellum, and a large mill that belonged to the king; the bath house before the house of Fulco de Falesia, in which both men and women bathe, the oven in the burgus novus with a volta adjacent to it, a macellum with 3 houses, a platea that stretches as far as the house of Habraha piscator, and all the houses in 2 insulae which are in front of the macellum, extending on one side as far as the house of Theobaldus aurifex and on the other to the house of magister Petrus Ianuensis, as contained in the charter from Count Raymond [III] of Tripoli; a third part of the proceeds of the cathena of Tyre, after expenses have been deducted; and the house of Opicio Lumbardus situated over the port of Tyre, which is bounded by the house of Obertus de Sandala, the house of Gandulfus Saonensis, the public way and a private road [via privata], together with all the houses and tenement held by Opicius behind his house and beyond the private road. text: May 1-5. Acre. With the agreement of domna Ysabella regis Amalrici filia, Henricus comes Trecensium records an agreement made with the Pisans. He concedes to them freedom to enter and leave through the catena of Acre without the payment of any dues [exactio], and all the liberties and possessions they held in Tyre, Acre and Jaffa during the reign of King Amalric, together with the platea that King Baldwin [IV] gave them. If there are other rights described in charters, Henricus will give them their due in his curia when the city of Jerusalem is restored to the Christians. No more than 30 Pisans should be resident in Tyre during the year from 1 May without his permission. The consuls of the Pisans will swear loyalty on behalf of all Pisans coming to the land. If a Pisan holds a burgesia of Henricus, he should surrender it and only hold property as other Pisans do. If a Pisan wishes to hold a burgesia, he should be subject to the same terms as other burgenses [of the kingdom]. Mindful of the magnificent contribution the city of Genoa made to the liberation and defence of the eastern regions and the siege of Acre with milites, pedites, balistarii and sagittarii, and siege engines, and with the consent of his wife domna Ysabella regis Amalrici filia, Henricus, Trecensium comes palatinus Tyri et Accon domnus, makes a sealed grant to the commune of Genoa and its citizens, represented by Gafforius victoriosi stolii Ianuensium amiratus. He confirms their free curia in the city of Acre. They are confirmed in their freedom from prosecution in any curia or in the cathena of Acre for any crime except homicide, theft and rape, and from imprisonment. They are free to come and go by sea or land, to buy and sell in the fundicum or the cathena without the payment of dues. Henricus confirms the Genoese possession of the ruga beati Laurentii in Acre and the freedom of the inhabitants from prosecution. He licenses the Genoese to build a tower in their ruga, should they wish to do so. He gives them the right to complete the building of the church of St Laurence in Tyre and he confirms all their rights in Tyre described in their charter.
