text: (c.1208). [288] At their request, the sultan of Egypt orders the release of Pisan and Venetian merchants - from Beirut, Crete and Jazirat ibn ‘Umar [Gazarta/Cizre] - who, travelling from Beirut to Cyprus, were driven off course and apprehended in Alexandria, being imprisoned there for a year.
