text: Apr. 21-30. Acre. Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, records under seal that Malpillus, Pipinus and Biutus, the consules of the Pisans in Acre, came into his presence and on behalf of all the Pisans explained that although no Pisan could be forced by the baiuli of the c[athena] to answer for any case, since it should be decided in the Pisan curia, Thomas comes Acerrarum, who had been sent by Frederick to be balius in the kingdom of Jerusalem, had forced them to answer to the court of the cathena [cathenae curia]. Appreciative of the support he has always received from the Pisans, Frederick restores their liberties, salvo iure regni nostri Hierosolimitani. Witnesses: Od[do] de Montebeliardo comestabilis regni Ierosolimitani; Balianus domnus Sydonis; Ioannes de Ibellino; [Guar]nerius Alemannus; Aymo [nepos] eiusdem Guarnerii; Aymarus nepos fratris Aymari de domo Hospitalis sancti Iohannis; and others.
