text: Feb. 8. Lateran. Pope Honorius III admonishes the archbishop and chapter of Nicosia for neglecting to obey his command that they provide a prebend for Adam, pauper, acolitus, in spite of the fact that the pope had appointed the bishop of Famagusta, the abbas, then prior, Episcopie, and magister W. canonicus Paphensis to oversee this. The pope orders them to carry out his command and writes to the archishop of Nazareth, the bishop of Acre and the prior Dominici Sepulchri Acconensis to see that his order is carried out.

text: Jul. 13. Lateran. Pope Honorius III informs Cardinal Pelagius of Albano, his papal legate, that N. Famagustanus cantor, who had aroused the wrath of the archbishop of Nicosia because he had carried out the mandate of the judges delegate in the case of Magister D. decanus Nycosiensis, had been suspended from office by the archbishop on spurious legal grounds. The cantor had observed the sentence until the judge delegates ordered that he be restored, unless there was a further cause for suspension. The cantor celebrated the divine offices, but asks the pope to give him a dispensation if he was at fault. The pope orders Pelagius to quash the sentence and investigate.

Hen. episcopus Mantuanus and I. abbas Montis Sion send S. archiepiscopus Tyrensis the letter from Cardinal Pelagius of Albano, the papal legate, [sent from Damietta on Nov. 25 1218] and order him to respond within 10 days of its reception over the case of the church of St Mark in Tyre. Mancius sacrus palatii notarius was present and wrote the document on the orders of Petrus presbiter.

Reminding the dean [decanus] and chapter of the church of Antioch that he had turned down their choice of Cardinal Pelagius of Albano to be patriarch and that the canonici Anselmus, Ulricus and Prandus had visited him, Pope Honorius III informs the dean and chapter that, employing his rights of provision, he has appointed magister Petrus de Capua, subdiaconus pape, doctor Parisiensis, the nephew of the late Cardinal Peter of St Marcellus, to the patriarchate of Antioch. He orders the chapter to be united and to care for the church of Antioch until the arrival of the new patriarch.

Magister Anselmus canonicus Antiochenus, David canonicus Antiochenus and Erardus canonicus Antiochenus have informed the pope that during the vacancy in the patriarchate Prince Raymond Rupen of Antioch, fearing conspiracy, had extorted an oath of loyalty from them. They have asked Pope Honorius III for advice. The pope declares that they are not bound by this oath, which would limit their rights to defend their church.
