text: Jan. 1-31. Raymond II, Dei gratia Tripolitanus comes, and his wife Hodierna Tripolis comitissa, daughter of the king of Jerusalem, record that at the request of Patriarch William of Jerusalem, who was returning from Antioch, and of his suffragans, Fulcherius Tyrensis archiepiscopus, Robertus Nazarenus archiepiscopus, Bernardus Sydoniensis episcopus and many others, who were with him, they gave the church and canons of the Holy Sepulchre freedom to import and export through the port of Tripoli anything they needed without paying duty. Raymond and Hodierna add a sealed eleemosynary grant, confirming everything given to the church and canons of the Holy Sepulchre by Count Raymond of St Gilles, his nephew William Jordan, Counts Bertrand and Pons and all the barones or terrarii, with the exception of Sanctus Georgius [in Montanis]. Witnesses: Giraldus episcopus Tripolis; Johannes canonicus; magister Gislebertus; Rainerius constabularius; Petrus de Podio Laurentii; Willelmus Rainoardi; Goscelinus de Cavomonte; Willelmus Porcelleti; Saxo; Poncius de Sura; Giraldus Isnelli; Brunellus dapifer; Raymundus Lamberti; Poncius Giraldi; Stephanus monacus; Otrannus cancellarius comitis, who drew up the charter.
