Bohemond, per la grace de deu prince d’Antioche et coms de Triple, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to frere Hermant, honorable maistre de la sancta maison de nostre dame de l’hospitau des Alamans, his convent and brothers. He gives a mill outside the walls of Antioch, situated on the river fer, below the patriarch’s mill, which he had bought and repaired. The mill has 3 millstones [peires] and the Hospital of St Mary of Germans has licence to install a fourth. The mill’s dependencies include a fishery [pescherie]. Bohemond adds the gift of a vineyard, which he had planted near the mill, and the winepress [pressoir] in it. text: Apr. 21-30. Acre. Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to frater Hermannus magister and the brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans. He confirms their purchase of a house [in Acre] from Iohannes de Conchi for 620 marchae argenti and another house, given by Iohannes, which is situated next to the church of the Holy Sepulchre, together with licence to build a vault stretching from a house Iohannes already has, so long as the platea publica of the city is not obstructed. Frederick also confirms the gift made by King John to the Order of a barbacan and all the land between the city wall of Acre and the sea, that is to say from the Gate of Goffridus Tortus to the barbacan, with all the stationes there, and with the right to build whatever the Order wishes on the land, provided it does not interfere with the via publica and the traffic on it. text: Jul. 7. Acre. In palatio magistri hospitalis sancte Marie Theotonicorum. Frater Henricus de Honloch magister and the chapter of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans on one side, and dominus Iacobus de Amigdala on the other, reach an agreement, sealed with the seals of the chapter and of Iacobus, over certain charters of comes Iozolinus relating to the land of Maron, rents of 7000 besants, which Iozolinus had from the funda and cathena of Acre, and other rights which Iozolinus had in the kingdom of Jerusalem. Iacobus claimed half of these by reason of his inheritance from his mother domina Agnes, the daughter of comes Iozolinus. After the intervention of friends, the parties agree the following. With the consent of his brothers in convent, frater Henricus recognizes Iacobus as the legitimate heir and invests him with half of Maron, half of the rents of 7000 besants, and half of the rights of Iozolinus in the kingdom of Jerusalem. Dominus Iacobus de Amigdalia renounces claims to the other half of Maron and the other rents and rights of Iozolinus. He agrees that the original charters should be held by the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans, who had bought the estates from domina Beatrix, the first-born daughter of Iozolinus, reserving claims to half of other properties, should they be restored to Christian hands. He promises never to challenge his sale to the Order of half of Castrum Regis for 6400 besants. or his leasing to the Order of half of Maron for an annual rent of 2500 besants, which is described in a separate charter. He agrees that should other properties, at present held by the Sarraceni, return to Christian hands, he will seek arbitration. He will never encourage any other individual to take action against the Order. Any breach of this agreement will carry a penalty of 2000 marchae argenti.
