text: Dec. 25 1150 – Sept. 23 1151. Melisende, dei providentia Ierosolimorum regina, has ordered the demolition of a mill that was obstructing entrance to the gate of the Tower of David. To compensate the leprosary of St Lazarus, which owned the mill, she makes a sealed eleemosynary gift to St Lazarus of a 5 terre carruatae of vines on the plain of Bethlehem on condition that Georgius and Salomon, the cultivators of the vineyard, receive half the produce of their labour. Melisende, dei gratia Ierosolimorum regina, with the agreement of her son Baldwin, dei providentia Latinorum Ierusalem rex quartus, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, giving the leprosary of St Lazarus of Jerusalem [conventus leprosorum Ierusalem] the gastina called Bethanan, the boundaries of which were established by domnus Rohardus Ierosolimitanus. It is between that part of Mahomeria held by Geraudus cognomine Regis, and that part held by frater Angerannus, and it stretches along the road [via] as far as the cava.
