In the presence of frere Anfos de Portugal maistre/frater Alphonsus de Portugali[a] magister, a chapter general of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem promulgates statutes, giving statutory authority to existing custom. They also describe the duties of the marshal and the brothers-at-arms and the equipment at their disposal, and reveal the existence of the two classes of brother knights and brother sergeants. They establish the method of election and the authority of the master and the great officers, the procedure for the holding of chapters general, the form of conventual life, internal discipline, the care of sick brethren and the provincial organization.

Frater Gaufridus magister Hospitalis records that he had asked Bohemond, princeps Antiochie et comes Tripolis, to confirm the possession by the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem of a land before Befania. The Hospitallers had released the prince from [his obligation to] the heir of Guillelmus Porcelet, when that heir came of age. If in future the heir should challenge this and the court should judge [per judicium curie] that the land should be returned to him, the Hospital would restore it. The boundaries of the land are as follows. On the east it borders land of the Hospital and land that had belonged to Georgius Porcellet. On the south there is the rivus de Gerol .... On the west it borders the Rivus Vetus, which flows when it rains. It adjoins the same river to the north. Stones are placed on each of the four corners of the land. She gives 4 carrucate terre with houses in casale Geschale, which Turginus had bought for 1000 besants from King Guy and Queen Sibylla, when they were Joppensis et Ascalonensis comes et comitissa. She delivers the charter of that sale to frater Isembardus Hospitalis magnus preceptor and frater Ricardus Hospitalis thesaurarius. She also leaves the Hospital an eleemosynary gift of 100 besants, to be paid on her death by the sale of a rent [censuales] of 50 besants a year payable to her by Thomas Pisanus for houses he holds of her in the vicus Catene at Acre, situated before the house of Johannes Daht. The houses border on the east the public way [via publica] and on the south the house of the daughter of Joannes Daht. On the north they adjoin the house of Tortosa and on west overlook the sea, called Lordamer. Any surplus from the sale of the rent can be distributed in alms for her soul. The Hospitallers will receive the eleemosynary gift of 100 besants even if Aalys should die intestate.
