text: Feb. 11. Jerusalem. In claustro et in capitulo Sancti Sepulchri. The burgenses of Mahumeria swear fealty [fidelitas] to the convent of the Holy Sepulchre according to this form. ‘I Johannes Guitardus swear fealty [fidelitas] to God and the Most Holy Sepulchre and the convent of the same Most Holy Sepulchre, [promising] to guard and maintain their life, members and honour, and all that belongs to the Holy Sepulchre and to the aforesaid convent, saving fealty to the king of Jerusalem. And in this may God and the Holy Gospels aid me’.
