Informed by the prior and canons of the Holy Sepulchre and King Aimery of Jerusalem that after the death of Patriarch [Aymar] M[onachus] of Jerusalem Cardinal Soffred of St Praxedis had been elected to succeed him, but had refused, Pope Innocent III tries to persuade Soffred to accept the office, offering him also an extension of his papal legation.
