[Eustache] Granerius, with the agreement of his wife Papia and his barons, confirms the gift made to St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat by King Baldwin I at the request of his father Eustache Grenier. The gift consisted of a mahomeria situated outside Sidon, near the barbican that faces in the direction of Tyre, and a verger, including the gardener who cultivates it, together with his heirs, and a casale that Engerannus Luvet had given to the abbey. This was approved by Eustace’s brother Walter, in the presence of their mother Emma. The monks can bury in the cemetery those who attend the church and also whomsoever they wish. He gives St Mary the tithe of the viridarium which is next to the church. He confirms all St Mary’s possessions in the territory of Sidon. The king also gives another casale called Sardanas which is close to [ante] the city of Tyre, except for part of the land between the mountain and the king’s viridarium, which he retains for his own use. He orders Paganus his cancellarius to seal the charter with his lead seal.Witnesses: Milissenda filia regis et regni Ierosolimitani haeres; Hugo Ioppe dominus; Ansellus de Bria; Barianus Iope constabularius; Ioannes camerarius; Hulricus Neapolis vicecomes; Bernardus Vaccarius; Hemelinus vicecancellarius, who wrote the charter.
