text: Jul. 29. Anagni. Drawing attention to the expenses falling on the Holy See and referring to a letter written by his predecessor Pope Gregory IX, Pope Innocent IV asks the abbot and convent of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat to provide what they can to the subsidies [in aid of the Holy Land]. They should hand their contribution to the patriarch of Jerusalem, the papal legate, and the bishop of Tiberias, or their representatives, who can enforce this if need be.
