text: Jan. 28. Sidon. Baldwin, per gratiam dei in sancta civitate Ierusalem Latinorum rex quartus, makes a sealed grant, giving Iohannes de Caypha, the son of Gambra, and his heirs the custodia, the drogomanathgium and the scribania over all the inhabited or uninhabited dependencies of his castle [castellum] called Mhalia. The names of the inhabited dependencies are Capharseme, Benna, Carcara, Ialin, Balaton, Torsia, Aithire, Tabaria, Iazon. If the king disposes of any of these, Iohannes will be compensated to the value of a horse. In the exercise of his office, Iohannes will have the same rights of procuration for himself and his horses as has the king when on expedition or with his army. Witnesses: Odo de Sancto Amando vicecomes et castellanus Ierosolimitanus; Poncius de Caypha; Rabellus de Monte Regali; Marsilius miles; Bernardus Bamqueth; Giraldus de Cunillis; Iohannes filius domne Osanne; Bonetus filius Garini Parui; Rainaldus socius Andree; Bernardus de Anegnia; Michael scriba.
