John, cardinal priest of SS Giovanni e Paolo, papal legate in the East, grants Willelmus abbas of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat the use of the mitre within his church, in church councils, processions and solemnities [greater feasts] and also on any occasion on which other abbots wear mitres, together with the use every day of the [episcopal] ring and the wearing of the dalmatic at solemn Masses. The privilege was drawn up by Robertus domni legati notarius.
