text: Aug. 3. Ferentino. Pope Innocent III informs the archbishop of Tyre that the doge of Venice has complained that the archbishop has refused to accept the decision of an appeal in relation to the church of St Mark in Tyre. The pope has ordered the patriarch of Jerusalem and Cardinal P. of St Marcellus, the papal legates, to investigate and send a report to him.

text: Aug. 10. Perugia. Pope Honorius III writes to the archbishop of Tyre, recalling that, faced by Venetian contumacy, Pope Innocent III had judged that the church of St Mark in Tyre should be subject to the archbishop, the decree being enforced by the patriarch of Jerusalem, the archbishop of Caesarea and the abbot of Mt Tabor, although he leaves open the prospect of a Venetian appeal.
