Appreciative of the many services dominus Petrus Pennapedis castellanus Hierusalem has rendered to the emperor Frederick, Riccardus Filangerius, imperialis marescalcus, sacri imperii legatus in partibus cismarinis et regni Hierusalem balius, makes a sealed grant to Petrus and his legitimate heirs. He gives a fief-rent of 400 Saracen besants, to be drawn on the revenues of Jerusalem and payable in 4 instalments a year. He also grants restor [restitutio] of 1 horse and 1 mule a year, in accordance with the custom and assise of the kingdom of Jerusalem [iuxta regni consuetudinem et assisiam]. Petrus will perform service [servitium] in person to Frederick and to his son King Conrad. Witnesses: Lutardus Filangerius regni Hierusalem marescalcus; Petrus dominus Scandalionis; Guarnerius Alemannus; Paulus Alemannus; and others.
