text: Sept. 1-30. Antioch. In the prince’s palatium. On the advice of Patriarch Aimery and with his barones, Bohemond III, son of Prince Raymond, divina dignatione princeps Antiochenus, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to Petrus Ferrandus militie beati Iacobi et Spate magister and his convent, recording that he has given them Castellum Vetule, except for the [property] that Guillelmus Bucellus retained when he returned the castellum to the prince and except for the 4 casalia of Bessil, Carnehalia, Neni and Nenenta, which are held by the Templars and except for Ifala and 2 gastinae held by the Templars. Bohemond has given the castellum des Gerrennes, except for those casalia [in its territory] which the Vetulus Assideorum holds with the prince’s agreement. He has also given Gerras, Baldenia, Buckebis and Gipsum, except for the villani of Montana Revelata, should they wish to live down on the plain and migrate to the lands of the prince or his barones. If any of the barones wish to make eleemosynary grants to the Order they can give rents in assisia, whether of 100 besants or 1500, 500 or 25. The grant is made on condition that if Petrus Ferrandus and his brother knights [fratres milites] arrive within a year from this September they will help conquer the territories given them. They will then have them in feodum in perpetuity. If they do not come the prince is free to decide whether to withdraw the endowment or give it to whomsoever he pleases.
