text: Nov. 30. Jaffa. Amalricus comes Ascalonis, with the consent of his brother King Baldwin and the agreement of his mother Queen Melisende, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to his confratres the canons of the Holy Sepulchre in return for their contribution to the expense of capturing Ascalon. He gives the Holy Sepulchre a casale called Geladia/Geliadia with 16 carrucatę terrę, marked out by his homines, and a house in Ascalon. With the agreement of Patriarch Amalric, he also gives 2 carrucatę terrę in the casale called Baineolbederan in exchange for the mahumeria called by the Sarraceni Cathara and the Latins ‘Green’, which had been given to the Holy Sepulchre after the capture of Ascalon. He confirms the alms-gift to his confratres the canons of 4 carrucatę terrę over [super] the river before Jaffa, a garden before Jaffa, a vineyard next to it and another vineyard, together with whatever the canons hold legitimately in the territories of Ascalon and Jaffa. Hugo, Cesaree Palestine dominus, with the agreement of his wife Ysabel, the daughter of dominus Johannes Gothmannus, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, to benefit among others his brother Eustachius, who is a brother of St Lazarus. Hugo gives the leprosary of St Lazarus of Jerusalem the viridarium that had been held by Stephanus Loripes and the house that had belonged to his brother Eustachius. The brothers of St Lazarus will hold the house free from all servitium to the lord of Caesarea. Hugo also gives another house next door that had been occupied by Arnaldus Gala, a brother of St Lazarus, on condition that if anyone but a brother of the leprosary lives in it the servitus paid by other burgenses will be rendered to the lord of Caesarea.
