The magister and brothers of the Knights Templar [militia Templi] have complained that the king of Cilician Armenia has fired their casalia, confiscating beasts and crops to the value of 50000 besants, and has seized 2 of their castles [castra], rupes W[i]ll[elm]i and rupes Ruissoli. Pope Innocent III encourages King Leon to make satisfaction and informs him that he has appointed the episcopus Bibliensis and the episcopus Valaniensis as judge delegates to hear the case.

Although Peter should stay in Constantinople for the time being, he should not cease to have responsibility for the Holy Land until another legate is appointed.

The prior and canons of the Holy Sepulchre have informed Pope Innocent III in person that when Cardinal S. of St Praxedis could not be induced to accept his election as patriarch of Jerusalem, they chose Bishop Albert of Vercelli as patriarch, insisting on their sole right as electors following the nomination of two candidates. King Aimery and the bishops have assented. The pope encourages Albert, who is in Lombardy, to agree to his election, in spite of the difficulties evident in the process.

Concerned by the threat to Christianity posed by the dispute over the principality of Antioch between King Leon of Cilician Armenia and his nephew on one side and the count of Tripoli on the other, and the failure of the mission of Cardinal Soffred of St Praxedis and Cardinal Peter of St Marcellus, Pope Innocent III appoints the abbots of Lucedio and Mt Tabor and the noble laymen Comes Bertoldus and G[erardus] de Furniuall[e] to end the dispute, compelling the parties to observe a truce in the interim and preventing the king of Jetrusalem, the Hospitallers of St John and the Knights Templar from taking sides in the dispute.
