text: May 4. In the siege camp before Acre. In return for the fidelity and service the Genoese, represented by the consul Guido Spinola consul de comuni and other nobles, have shown to the crown and to Christianity in the siege of Acre and the recovery of the kingdom of Jerusalem, Guy, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Ierhusalem rex Latinorum VIIIus, and his wife the Lady Queen Sibylla confirm under seal for the Genoese and their commune all that they are known to have possessed in Acre before its conquest. In particular they confirm for all those inhabiting Genoa and the region from Portovenere to Monaco freedom to come and go by sea and land without the payment of dues [dricturae]. Witnesses: Conradus marchio domnus Tyri; Aimericus regius constabularius; comes Ioscelinus regni senescalcus; Hugo Tyberiadis; Gaufridus Tortus; Galganus de Cheneche; Gazellus. The charter was drawn up by Petrus regius cancellarius et Tripolitane ecclesie archidiaconus.
