Leon, per Dei et Romani imperii gratiam rex Armeniorum, informs Pope Innocent III that following the military assistance given to him against the pagani the previous August by frater Garinus de Monte Acuto magister and the brothers of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem he has made a sealed eleemosynary grant to the Order, giving them the city of Seleph, Castellum Novum and Camardesium. He is confident of their future support for him and his nephew and heir Raymond Rupen. He asks the pope to confirm his gift.

Appealed to for justice by the emissaries of King Leon of Cilician Armenia, the abbas Sancte Maria Triumarcuum, Arciuardus miles and Bouo latinus cancellarius, Pope Innocent III orders the bishop of Cremona [episcopus Cremonensis] to travel to the East and to find 2 suitable men to hear the case and put an end to the dispute between the king, his nephew R. and the count of Tripoli, compelling the parties by armed as well as ecclesiastical sanctions if necessary. If the bishop cannot find any suitable judge delegates, he should recruit the patriarch of Jerusalem, who is papal legate, and the patriarch of Antioch.

With the agreement of his heir Raymond Rupen, the son of Raymond, the first born son of Prince Bohemond of Antioch, Leon, filius domini Stephani bone memorie, Dei et Romani imperii gratia rex Armenie, records under seal that he has given Laranda to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, to be held by it when he or his heirs or other Christians take Laranda from the pagani. He gives the Hospital freedom make peace or war with Laranda or on any other frontier of its territory, provided the defence of his kingdom is assured. He will abide by truces made by the Hospital and will defend the lands of the Hospital if it is at war with a neighbour with which he has a truce. The Hospitallers may keep all the booty they gain in warfare. They also have the right to arrest all those subject to them who act against the Christian faith throughout his kingdom and to judge them according to their own justice.
