text: Mar. 17. Lateran. Pope Honorius III confirms for Bartholomeus Valaniensis episcopus the privilege of papal protection issued for the church of Valenia by Pope Urban III. He confirms its rights, including free elections, and the possessions and tithes held by the bishop’s predecessors. He specifies: the site in Valania on which the church stands with houses, the church of Margant with houses, casale Coket, casale Iobar, casale Bethselmon and 2 cartice grece in the plain of Rogia, half of the casale called Colcas, and the lordship which the bishop has in that casale, possessions and tithes in Valania and in its territory, [and in] Margant and its territory, the tithes of the lands of the late Raynaldus dominus Margati, the tithes of Rossa, Potema, Pharang and other adjacent casalia, mills and gardens, the church of Rossa, the tithes of Cham, Hisen and Aloso and the tithes of the casalia that the said Raynaldus had in the terra sancti Parlerii, and other possessions and tithes that the church is known to have held. Honorius confirms the arrangements approved by Popes Lucius III and Urban III for the Greek and Armenian churches in the diocese, which must recognise the bishop of Valania as their bishop.
