Radulfus miles, returning from his imprisonment by the Turci and needing to pay his ransom, sells, with the agreement of his wife Maria, to abbot Villelmus/Willelmus and the monks of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat his share [pars] of the guastina called Zonia, which is next to the casale of Degerboam and at the head [caput] of the casale of Cala. It is in the lordship [de fisco] of Hugo Hybelini and his brothers. At the request of Radulfus, Hugo, with his mother Heluisa, his brothers Balduinus and Baresanus, and his sisters Ermenjart and Stephania, authorise the sale. Hugo promises to be guarantor of the sale and because he has no seal, he has the charter sealed with the seal of the lords of Ramla [sigillum Ramatensis]. With the agreement of her son King Baldwin III, Melisende, dei gratia Ierosolimorum regina, makes a sealed eleemosynary gift to Willelmus abbas and the monks of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat of a casale called Cafracos, which is situated not far from St Mary’s casale called Aschar. Excluded from the gift is a particula terre in the possession of a certain turcopolus. In return a priest will offer Mass at the tomb of the Blessed Virgin Mary for Melisende’s benefit and that of her relations. Baldwin, per gratiam dei in sancta Hierusalem Latinorum rex quartus, at the request of Queen Melisende his mother, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, confirming Melisende’s gift to the abbot Willelmus and the monks of the abbey of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat of a casale called Cafracos, situated not far from Ascar, with the exception of a particula already given to a turcopolus, on condition that Mass is solemnly celebrated by a priest for her benefit and that of her relations.
